As interest rates change and options vary keeping my clients up to date with alternatives such as methods of early repayment, lessening overall debt, reducing interest and what different banks have to say is done by way of a monthly newsletter that keeps my clients informed and able to retain a sense of control around their financial day to day activities. This also maintains the personal connection that my clients agree is an aspect that sets me apart.

First home buyers

This role has meant I’ve had the honour of assisting first home buyers and new immigrants with their exciting first purchase and have also shared the joy when a change of clients circumstances and subsequent mortgagee sale has been prevented.


Construction loans

Personal experience in building has added valued practical experience in construction loans as well as the pitfalls and positives of investment lending.


Refinancing to meet constantly changing times has never to me been a recent thing as we never know what is around the corner and I have found my customers to be reassured that I am but a phone call away.

About Bruce Harnell

I began my career with banking giant Westpac Bank, where over a period of 8 years I held a variety of roles, moving through the ranks from branch internal relief officer to eventually becoming Branch Manager of Westpac’s Pakauranga Office.

Liaising with clients, relationship building and lending have always been the aspect of banking I have most enjoyed, thus in 2003 I decided to move to Westpac’s newly established South Auckland Mobile Mortgage Mangers Unit.

After spending two years with this division, I felt it was necessary to broaden my knowledge of lending products available, to truly be able to assist my clients in obtaining the best possible mortgage options for their individual needs.

Community involvement

As a father of four growing children, ranging in age from 12 to 18 who are all mad on sport, I have been coaching my boys soccer team for the last 5 yrs and am constantly meeting new people from all walks of life. Cheering my children on at soccer, cricket and hockey has shown me that it is only by truly being a part of the community in which you live and serve that you can understand its pleasures and pressures.

I’m also a member of the local church and pride myself on being a person of integrity who can be trusted.

My service extends throughout Auckland and I will visit you at a time and place which suits you. Most of my clients are based in the central Auckland area, including Ellerslie, Mt Wellington, Kohimarama, Panmure, Greelane, Onehunga, Otahuhu, Papatoetoe, Manukau and Manurewa.
