Hi Jen, I wanted to give some feedback regarding my experience in dealing with you over the last 2 weeks. So, where do I start...! Firstly, thank god I found you! After my current bank of 40+years told me they were no longer able to help me with my bridging finance for my new home in Papamoa which was settling in 7 working days, I really had no idea where to go for help as I hadn’t sold my current home after an offer fell over the day before. So as people do these days, I turned to Google in the hope of finding some shred of help. Amongst the listings on my phone was an interesting website with plenty of information about bridging finance and I wasn’t sure what I was even looking at, but called the number anyway, and got you. You might remember me asking you (after about 10 minutes of telling you my life story and my current desperate situation) “Is this an information line, or do you do finance as well?”! I asked that because I couldn’t believe how helpful the person on the other end of the line was, and that you weren’t trying to sell me anything at all. I honestly felt like you had all day to help me and you seemed so confident and sympathetic to my situation that I actually thought you were too good to be true. I’ve been in sales in various forms for most of my working life and like to think I was pretty good at what I did. I wasn’t a pushy sales person, but instead took pride in being helpful, empathetic, and highly knowledgeable about my product and my customers business. I can only hope my customers felt as looked after and cared for as you have made me feel in my dealings with you. You put 99% of the people I’ve ever dealt with to shame (I’d quite honestly say 100%, but I don’t want to give you a big head haha). You never left me hanging and waiting for information, you were confident when I really needed to hear it, you were kind and understanding even when I was doubting that you were going to get me a solution to my situation, and you made things happen when I really thought you were attempting the impossible. So honestly Jen, I can’t thank you enough for not only getting me the solution I was after, but for doing it in a way that exceeded all my expectations! You are truly an expert in what you do, and one of the most lovely people I’ve ever met, and I wouldn’t hesitate in recommending you to anyone I know who needs financial help. Zoe and I are both deeply appreciative of your help and feel like you were truly an angel sent from heaven when we really needed one. We wish you all the best for a happy and prosperous future and hope you can come visit us in Papamoa one day! Kindest regards, Tony Nicholson

To break or not to break, that is the question.

With Interest rates at an all-time low, a lot of people are thinking about breaking their current fixed rate to reset at something lower. This is effectively breaking the contract you have signed with the bank, the benefit on the face of it appears obvious for the borrower – stop paying an old fixed rate above 4% and start paying a new rate of perhaps 2.79%.

If I had a dollar for every time I was asked what interest rates would do.

I have never been the fortunate owner of a crystal ball, yet I am constantly asked “what are interest rates going to do over the next couple of years." The reality is I don’t know and nobody genuinely does. People far more learned than I in the area of economics provide any prediction with a caveat.
