Loan Market Highland Park Awarded Best Team in Australasia
The last financial year has been fantastic for Loan Market Highland Park, and I just wanted to say thanks for all your support and business.
As I mentioned last month, I was recently away at our international conference on Hamilton Island. We picked up a number of awards, which I must stress once again could not have been done without your support. My wonderful personal assistant, Corrie Hughes, has been a great addition to our team and a lot of credit has to go to her as well.
We were lucky enough to scoop the following awards:
Team Award: Number One Team in Australasia (across over 600 brokers!)
Personal: Top 30 Brokers in New Zealand 2014 (Awarded by Mortgage Mag N.Z.)
Personal: Top 5 Brokers in Loan Market New Zealand 2014
Personal: Top 30 Brokers in Loan Market Australasia 2014
Elite Broker Loan Market 2014
Bruce Patten, who is the principal broker in our office, is mostly responsible for us achieving the Number One spot in Australasia. Astonishingly, he has also recently celebrated writing over one billion in loans, which makes him the first person to do that in the Loan Market group. Congratulations Bruce and a big thanks for your support!
Election Promises for the Property Market
The election countdown is on, with less than a month to go. One of the main debates this election is the issue of the housing market. John Key and National have recently released their answer to helping first home buyers, and we have had a look at how that would look.
National have pledged money for a scheme called HomeStart to help first home buyers build new homes. It is expected that HomeStart will allow people to withdraw more money from their KiwiSaver scheme, relative to what they can currently access. KiwiSavers will also be granted a generous amount of money for their deposits, as outlined in this chart.
Now, whether these promises can or will be delivered is still to be seen. In my opinion though, it’s a generous but realistic policy that has the potential to help a lot of first home buyers onto the property ladder. It also does something to address the problem of undersupply in the Auckland property market.
For now, all we can do is use our vote to elect the party that we think can deliver on their promises.
We can assist you to access the allotted benefits through the government scheme (as long as you meet the criteria), which currently provides funding for people with only 10 per cent deposit.
